Account & Designer Profiles

Keeping a Profile Private, or Deleting It

You are always in control of a designer profile after you create it. This guide covers every way to pull information back or remove the profile.

All of these controls are on the Designer Profile page, which you can open from your account menu.

Hide a single field

Every optional field, avatar, location, join date, and profile stats, has its own switch. Turn a switch off and that detail disappears from your public page right away. Your entered value is kept so you can switch it back on later without retyping.

Make the whole profile private

Flip the Profile is public switch off. Your page at /u/your-handle immediately returns a not-found page for everyone. Your handle stays reserved to you, and all your content is kept, so you can make it public again whenever you like.

Going private takes effect on the first reload, not after a delay. If you turn your profile off, it is off immediately.

Change your handle

You can change your handle, but only once every 30 days. When you change it, the old handle is released immediately and someone else could claim it, so any links you have shared pointing at the old address would stop working. Change your handle only when you are sure.

Delete the profile

At the bottom of the Designer Profile page, Delete profile removes your public page and all its links, and frees your handle. This is different from deleting your account:

  • Delete profile removes only the public designer profile. Your account, saved designs, and everything else stay exactly as they were.
  • Delete account (in the Danger Zone of Account Settings) removes your whole account and all associated data, including any designer profile.

Your data and export

Your profile and links are part of your personal data. If you delete your account, your designer profile and links are removed along with it. If you need a copy of your data, contact support and we will provide an export of your profile, links, and designs.
