Licensing Information

Every plan covers personal and commercial use. Whether you can resell the design file itself depends on the tool you made it with and your plan.

Some designs need attribution or carry their own license terms. See attribution and source licenses below.

Commercial use means selling the things you cut, engrave or print, such as signs, ornaments, keychains and map art. Every plan allows it.

Resale means selling or giving away the design file itself: SVG, STL or 3MF downloads, bundles, clipart sets and asset packs. On a free account you may resell Design Editor designs, but not files made with our generators or the Map Designer. Supporter and Pro members may resell both, and files made during a membership can still be resold after it ends.

No plan allows mass downloading, or using our files to build a catalogue, library or download service that competes with MyLaserTools. This includes Art Library and Design Editor files.

We grant only rights we hold. Fonts, icons, map data, community designs and uploaded content can have separate conditions, and a membership does not replace them.

The Art Library combines historical artwork traced from old books with original vector designs and MIT-licensed patterns. Each piece records its source. We publish historical artwork when we believe in good faith that it is in the public domain in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union, based on the book's publication date and the dates its known creators died. We cannot promise the same for every other country. MIT-licensed patterns are licensed works, not public-domain artwork.

You may use the files in personal and commercial projects, including physical items you sell. Access through an account or a plan does not replace the source license or remove its requirements.

Resale and redistribution are allowed under the applicable source license on every account tier, including digital products, clipart and asset packs. For files under our own license, this includes modified versions. Mass downloading, or using Art Library files to build a catalogue or library that competes with MyLaserTools, is not allowed. Public-domain originals retain their independent rights; MIT-licensed patterns retain their permissions and require the included copyright and license notice. We grant only rights we control.

Sparks pay for file preparation, hosting and access, not exclusive ownership of historical originals. Tracing does not automatically create new exclusive rights. Preserve the notices required by each source license. To report a rights concern, email copyright@mylasertools.com with the artwork URL and supporting details.

Our symbol catalog combines public-domain/CC0 artwork, original MyLaserTools designs, and commercially reusable MIT- and Apache-licensed icons. These are not all public-domain works. Each symbol records its source and license.

Keep the copyright and license notices included in digital exports and preserve them when editing in other software. Third-party license permissions remain in force; a membership does not replace those terms.

The fonts in our generators are all free for commercial use. Most are open-source, released under the SIL Open Font License, CC0, or Apache 2.0, and a few carry other free-commercial-use or public-domain terms. The specific license for each typeface is listed in the table below. No credit is legally required for most, but we credit every type designer and foundry we have on record, as a thank-you to the people whose work makes these tools possible.

OFL fonts may be used commercially; the font files themselves may not be sold on their own, and OFL reserved font names must not be reused for derivative fonts.

Map Designer designs follow the table at the top of this page. Add data attribution only when your finished design publicly uses map features or topography layers.

• Advanced bathymetry (lake depth): Advanced depth surveys come from several public data providers, and some are released under licenses that require a specific credit. The exact attribution text for each source is listed in the Bathymetry Data Attribution section below.

If attribution cannot reasonably fit on a physical item, include it in the product listing, point-of-sale materials, packaging, instructions, or other accompanying materials.

Bathymetry (water-depth) layers are derived from real public-domain and third-party survey and modeled data, processed and stylized for artistic and decorative design use only. Depths, contours, shorelines, and other features are approximate, may be interpolated, modeled, simplified, out of date, or inaccurate, and must not be relied upon. These layers are not nautical charts, navigational aids, surveying products, legal boundary records, engineering data, emergency guidance, or safety-critical information, and must not be used for navigation or any purpose where life, safety, or property could be at risk.

Geospatial and bathymetry data are provided "as is." Neither MyLaserTools nor the underlying data providers make any guarantee or warranty, express or implied, concerning the accuracy, completeness, condition, or fitness of the data for any particular purpose. The burden of determining fitness for use lies entirely with you. In no event shall MyLaserTools or any data provider have any liability whatsoever for any consequential, incidental, indirect, special, or other damages of any kind, including but not limited to any loss of profits, arising out of the use of or reliance on this data.

• Preserve required source notices and comply with each applicable license when selling, modifying or redistributing files.
• Do not claim exclusive ownership of public-domain originals, third-party artwork or designs you do not own. Selling a file does not remove its source license conditions.

Sparks pay for preparation, hosting and access to files, not exclusive ownership of public-domain originals. These permissions do not allow sharing paid account access or getting around access controls.
