Terms of Service

Map Designer may use third-party and public geospatial data sources, including OpenStreetMap, Copernicus DEM, GLOBathy bathymetry data, GeoNames city data, and Mapbox place search. These sources may have separate license, attribution, notice, storage, and acceptable-use requirements. Your rights to use map-based exports are subject to those third-party terms in addition to these Terms.

You are responsible for including required map-data attribution when publicly displaying, distributing, selling, or otherwise sharing map-based designs. Do not extract, bulk download, cache, resell, redistribute, or create a separate database from third-party map or search data except as the applicable provider permits.

Bathymetry (water-depth) layers are derived from real public-domain and third-party survey and modeled data, processed and stylized for artistic and decorative design use only. Depths, contours, shorelines, and other features are approximate, may be interpolated, modeled, simplified, out of date, or inaccurate, and must not be relied upon. Map, topography, and bathymetry layers are provided for creative design use. They are not nautical charts, navigational aids, surveying products, legal boundary records, engineering data, emergency guidance, or safety-critical information, and must not be used for navigation or any purpose where life, safety, or property could be at risk.

Map and bathymetry data can contain errors or omissions and are supplied for decorative design. Check their suitability for your project and preserve the underlying providers’ required notices. The consumer rights, remedies and liability provisions below apply; this section does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Some features, including spark credit packs and Supporter or Pro subscriptions, require payment. One-time purchases and subscriptions are sold and processed by our payment provider, Polar, acting as the Merchant of Record. Polar is the seller of record at checkout, issues your invoice, and collects any applicable taxes. MyLaserTools does not store your full payment card details.

Spark packs are one-time purchases that add the number of credits shown at checkout to your shared account balance. Credits can be used for Map Designer exports and paid Art Library pieces at the rates shown before use. Rasterized map previews do not spend credits. A final map export is charged once; its saved file formats and later downloads do not incur another charge while that export remains available. An artwork unlocked with credits can be downloaded again without another charge while it remains available. Library access through a membership lasts only while that membership provides access; downloading a piece through membership alone does not create a permanent individual unlock. Files already saved on your device can be kept under their applicable licenses. An approved full or partial pack refund revokes the corresponding whole-number share of purchased credits, without reducing your available balance below zero. Credits revoked while reserved for an unfinished map export are not returned when that reservation is cancelled or expires. Completed artwork unlocks are retained.

Subscriptions are offered on a monthly or annual basis and renew automatically at the then-current price at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The price, billing period, and renewal date are shown before you purchase. We will give reasonable notice of any change to your renewal price.

You can cancel at any time from your account or through the Polar customer portal. When you cancel, your subscription access continues until the end of the current paid period and does not renew again. Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Supporter and Pro provide immediate access to digital tools and files. Any statutory cooling-off or withdrawal rights are handled in line with Polar's checkout terms as Merchant of Record, and mandatory consumer protections that apply to you always continue to apply.

Subscription access remains available while your subscription is active, including when it is scheduled to cancel at the end of the current paid period. Existing trials remain available until they end. If a renewal payment becomes past due, access from that membership is paused until payment is recovered. Revoked, unpaid, canceled, or expired subscriptions do not provide membership access. Any other active membership on your account continues to provide its own benefits.

Free accounts may resell or redistribute Design Editor designs and lawfully obtained Art Library files under the applicable license. Reselling or redistributing generator and Map Designer exports as digital files requires a Supporter or Pro membership. Exports made while a membership was active may still be resold after it ends. Selling physical products made from any of these files is allowed on every tier. Preserve third-party notices and map-data attribution.

Crediting MyLaserTools is optional, but required map-data attribution and third-party license notices must be preserved. If you wish to credit us:

You may include this on product listings, packaging, documentation, or anywhere appropriate.

Some tools on MyLaserTools.com, including the Design Editor, allow you to upload or import content for processing, such as images, photos, SVG files, and other vector artwork or designs. By uploading or importing content, you confirm that:

• You own the content or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, or permissions to use it, including for any commercial purpose you intend.
• Your use of the content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademark, trade dress, patent, or moral rights, and does not violate any privacy, publicity, or contractual right.
• The content does not incorporate logos, brands, characters, or other protected material you are not authorized to reproduce.
• You accept full and sole responsibility for any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your uploaded or imported content and any products you make from it.

You are solely responsible for verifying that you hold the rights to any content you upload or import. MyLaserTools.com does not review, endorse, or verify user-provided content, does not store your uploaded or imported files beyond what is needed to process your request, and accepts no liability for any infringement or other claim resulting from user-provided material. If you are unsure whether you have the right to use particular content, do not upload or import it.

If you believe content processed or shared through MyLaserTools.com infringes your copyright, email us at hi@mylasertools.com with the following:

• Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
• Identification of the infringing material and enough detail for us to locate it (such as a shared design link).
• Your contact information (name, email address).
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

We will review valid notices and remove or disable access to infringing material where appropriate, and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

From your designs page you can optionally create a public design, which publishes a separate copy of one of your private projects to Community Designs. Doing so is entirely voluntary, and nothing you make is published unless you choose to publish it. Published designs appear in the gallery immediately; we do not review them beforehand. We review designs after publication, both routinely and in response to reports, and we may edit, remove, or unpublish any design at any time, for any reason, at our sole discretion. We also select a subset of published designs into a curated collection, which is what the gallery shows by default.

A published design is visible to everyone. Other users can view it, open it in the Design Editor, and download the design file, and it may be displayed alongside your public display name and profile picture. What others may do with it depends on the license it carries, which is explained on the community design licensing page. You can hide or delete a published design at any time from your designs page, though copies others already downloaded remain outside our control. Your private project is never affected.

By submitting a design you grant MyLaserTools.com a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for formatting and previews), publicly display, and distribute the submitted design, its preview image, and its title and description, in connection with operating and promoting the service. You retain ownership of your design; this license ends for future distribution when you delete the submission or we remove it.

You confirm that each submission:

• Is your own original work, or you have all rights needed to share it publicly.
• Contains no private, personal, or confidential information you would not want shown publicly.
• Is not offensive, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, deceptive, or otherwise unlawful, and does not infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Is not spam and is not posted mainly to advertise. A design that exists only to drive clicks to another site, or that repeats the same promotional content, may be removed.

Links in your title or description are allowed, including affiliate links, on one condition: you must clearly disclose an affiliate or sponsored link as such, next to the link. Undisclosed affiliate links, deceptive links, and link spam are not allowed. Links you add are published with a “nofollow” attribution and open in a new tab, so they pass no search ranking.

We review published designs after they go live and may edit or remove any that break these standards. You can report a design using the report option on its page, and we will review it. Repeated or serious breaches may result in losing access to publishing.

We provide paid services with reasonable care and skill and preserve your statutory rights concerning digital content, including rights where content is faulty, not as described or not lawfully supplied. Beyond those obligations and our express promises, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or suitability for every particular purpose.

Test files and machine settings on suitable material before production and follow your equipment’s safety instructions. We cannot predict every material, machine or modification. This testing responsibility does not remove our responsibility for faults in the service or rights in content we supply.

Historical artwork in the Art Library is traced from old books. Before we publish a book's artwork we check when the book was published and when its known authors, illustrators and engravers died. We publish it only when we believe in good faith that it is in the public domain in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union. Copyright terms differ between countries and old records can be wrong, so we cannot promise public-domain status in every country. Trademark, privacy and similar rights are separate from copyright, and checking them for your own product is up to you.

If you tell us a piece may not be free to use, or we find a problem ourselves, we review it and may remove it from the library. If we withdraw a piece you paid for because of a rights problem, we will give you a replacement piece or refund the sparks you spent on it, and you should stop selling it once we tell you. Apart from any remedy the law gives you, that is the extent of our responsibility for rights in Art Library files.

Nothing in these Terms limits any guarantee or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

For consumers, we remain responsible for reasonably foreseeable loss caused by our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law. The business limitations below do not restrict your mandatory consumer remedies.

If you use the service as a business, we are not liable for indirect or consequential business losses, including lost profits, revenue or business opportunities, except where applicable law prevents that exclusion.

For business customers only, and except for the liabilities below, our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid for the affected service in the preceding twelve months or USD $50. This limit does not restrict refunds or other remedies we expressly promise.

Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

With your analytics consent, we measure use of the service through first-party and Google analytics. This includes:

• Page visits and usage patterns
• Tool interactions and generation events
• Device and browser types

With your consent, we also use Google Analytics 4 for page and session analytics and for high-value events such as exports and Map Designer interactions. This data is used solely for internal analytics and product development. It is not sold and is not shared with third parties except trusted service providers, such as Google Analytics, acting on our behalf under data protection agreements. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts located in Saskatchewan have jurisdiction, except where the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings locally or require different governing law. Those mandatory rights always apply.

We may update these Terms and retain dated versions. We will give reasonable notice of material changes affecting existing accounts and request renewed acceptance where required. New wording does not automatically replace rights already granted or remove obligations under an earlier purchase. Changes required urgently by law or security may take effect sooner, with notice as soon as practicable.
