# Making paw print ornaments with the Paw Print Ornament Generator

> paw print ornaments with a pet's name, optional claws, and snowflake pads

For the family members with four feet. Type the pet's name in **Your Text** and it sets into the main pad of a paw print. Three toggles shape the personality: **Add Claws** turns a soft cat-style paw into a dog-scratch one, **Add Snowflakes** fills the four toe pads with snowflakes for the Christmas edition, and **Include Hanger** adds the hole and ring. **Ornament Size** and **Hanger Hole Size** finish the fit. These work as tree ornaments, collar-adjacent tags, and - gently - as memorial keepsakes.

## What you need

- **Laser cutting:** 3 mm [laser-grade plywood](https://yxecreations.com/collections/laser-grade-plywood) or [acrylic](https://yxecreations.com/pages/acrylic-sheets) - black acrylic paws with white engraved names are striking
- **Finishing:** ribbon, or a jump ring for hanging from a collar hook or memorial frame

## Step 1 - Name and toggles

Enter the pet's name and set the mood: snowflakes on for a tree ornament, off for a year-round keepsake; claws to taste. Short names sit best in the pad - Biscuit fits, Sir Reginald Fluffington III does not.

## Step 2 - Size and hanger

- **Ornament Size** of 70-90 mm suits a tree; smaller versions work as bag charms.
- Toggle **Include Hanger** and set **Hanger Hole Size** to 4 mm+ for ribbon.
- Pick a rounded font - the name cuts out of the pad, so sturdy letterforms survive.

## Step 3 - Export the SVG

Download the **SVG** - one cut-ready path with the name and details as cutouts.

## Laser Cutting

### Laser cutting

1. Cut in one pass; the snowflake pad details like a slightly slower speed.
2. Back the cutouts with contrasting acrylic or felt so the name and snowflakes pop.
3. For memorial pieces, walnut plywood with a light oil finish sets the right tone.
4. Thread ribbon through the hanger ring.

## Make it yours

- One paw per pet on the tree, snowflakes on, sized by animal.
- Memorial version: claws off, snowflakes off, name and years, walnut and oil.
- Glitter acrylic paw as a pet-lover's car charm.
- Groomer or vet clinic thank-you gifts with client pets' names.
- Make a Gotcha Day ornament with the adoption year.
- String several paws on one ribbon as a multi-pet garland.
- Pair with the Gift Tag Generator to label presents from the dog.
