# Making a mirror charm with the Hanging Car Charm Generator

A hanging charm is the fastest personalized car gift: a shaped tag that dangles from the rearview mirror. Start from a funny preset like BEST DRIVER EVER or YOU'RE NOT A RACE CAR DRIVER, then make it your own.

Every shape comes with a welded hanger loop on top, so it is ready for a cord or chain straight off the cutter.

## What you need

- Wood or acrylic offcuts; two-tone acrylic makes the engraving pop
- A laser, or an FDM printer
- A cord, ribbon, or chain for the loop

## Step 1 - Shape and preset



Pick a preset to load the text and pictogram, then choose a shape: shield, rosette, banner, hexagon, tag, or circle.

## Step 2 - Text and pictogram



Edit the top, main, and bottom lines with their own fonts, size the main line, and pick a pictogram like checkered flags, a steering wheel, a trophy, or a car.

## Laser cutting

### Cut and hang



Download the SVG: the outline and loop cut, the text and icon engrave. Thread a cord through the loop and hang it from the mirror.

## 3D printing

### Print it in two colours



Set the thickness in the 3D preview and export a 3MF. The base and the raised detail are separate coloured objects, so a multi-material printer lays them down in two colours with no painting. STL works too for a single-colour print you can paint or leave bare.
